MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret engineering drawings to determine specifications, set up and operating requirements
- Complete first run inspection and complete spot checks for conformance to specifications
- Ensure effective production of quality parts by completing in-process and final checks using gauges and measuring equipment
- Set up and operate a CNC Lathe to produce finished components/parts
- Work to defined tolerances
- Write, edit and load CNC programs
- Observe numerical displays on control panel and compare with data on process sheets to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates and speeds or machining cuts.
Monday to Thursday: between 4:00 pm to 2:30 am
Training to be completed on day shift Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Post-Secondary education in General Machining, CNC Programming, or Mechanical focus would be preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ of relevant hands-on machining experience, preference in a machine shop setting
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, sketches and verbal instructions
- Strong in math and computer skills
- Ability to use precision measuring tools to ensure specifications and tight tolerances are met.
