SUMMARY: Working in our Teck Center, the Injection Molding Specialist will operate a variety of equipment to test molds and ensure the plastic parts produced meet customer specifications and parameters. This requires someone with experience troubleshooting and identifying root causes when parts do not meet established levels of quality, and will contribute to resolving issues.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish, execute and be accountable for test plans created by the Specialist that are within the customer's parameters.
- Ability to identify issues or challenges with the test and to be able to effectively record, communicate and make recommendations to a possible solution.
- Competency to measure parts produced to ensure they fall within company limits.
- Capability to run multiple styles of equipment, including injection molding machines, compressors, chillers and dryers.
- Ability to install and make all necessary connections into an injection molding machine.
- Aptitude to read and interpret quality data to facilitate the process window.
- Collaborate with program managers and customers
- Knowledge in plastic processing, problem solving and creative thinking that will enable the individual to create and execute test plans that will determine root causes and establish a robust process.
QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 + Years' experience in Plastic Injection Molding
- Post-Secondary education - Two year college Mechanical Technician program.
- An understanding of safety protocol and be a leader with respect to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Willingness to travel frequently (internationally).
- Technical background preferably in the plastic injection molding industry.
- A firm understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems and controls.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to clearly document and communicate ideas and suggestions.
- Ability to work independently and interact effectively with all levels within the organization and our customers.
